Doctor Blade Types

We offer 3 doctor blade types:

PB10 is our standard, all-purpose Doctor Blade used for flexographic printing applications.
Crafted from premium European carbon steel with a consistently refined microstructure, PB10 delivers superior performance compared to other standard carbon steel Doctor Blades.

Carbon steel blades are known for their flexibility and balanced price-to-performance ratio. Their wear resistance can be adjusted through carbon content and precise heat treatment. In flexographic printing, it’s crucial to match the hardness of the doctor blade with that of the anilox roll. Blades that are too hard can either wear down the anilox roll prematurely or break, potentially contaminating the ink.

However, carbon steel blades are not suitable for use with water-based inks, as the interaction between water and unprotected steel leads to rust. Stainless steel Doctor Blades were developed specifically to address this corrosion issue.

PB30 is a high-quality Doctor Blade manufactured from a superior tool steel grade with additional chromium for improved wear resistance.

Manufactured from high quality European tool steel with a specially adapted microstructure, PB30’s higher wear resistance makes it an ideal blade for use on high volume lines.

PB50 is a premium quality Doctor Blade offering the highest level of wear resistance and durability. The wear resistance of PR50 relies on very hard carbide particles, achieved by alloying with tungsten.

Manufactured from a superior grade of micro-alloyed tool steel with 1% chromium and 1.15% tungsten, PB50 delivers exceptional blade lifespan, as well as precise, clean doctoring.
